This feature already existed in Classic mode and now works in “Standard mode” as well.
In project models and projects in standard mode, planning items can now be made mandatory. By making an item mandatory, it cannot be removed (by the project manager/support person) from the project schedule.
How it works: Making planning items mandatory in a project model
The obligation on a plan item is set in the project model. If a project is created based on that project model, the created project will have these mandatory plan items: which therefore cannot be removed by the project leader of that project.
Note: The obligation is adopted only when creating a project. If at a later time the obligation in the model is modified, it will not be carried over into existing projects. The adjustment will only be included in newly created projects.
As a manager of a project model, you can set the obligation on the detail page of a planning item. Go to the detail page of a planning item by clicking on the arrow button behind a planning item in the ‘Project Planning’ tab. You then open the detail page of a planning item.
At the top right of the appeared detail page, you can make the item mandatory by clicking the button.
When an item is mandatory it is listed in the item’s header. The obligation can be taken off by clicking on the button
Adjust planning item obligation in a project
. As a user with System Administrator rights, the obligation of planning items can be adjusted in projects. You can do this in the same way as in the project model. So on the detail page of a planning item using the button <Make this item mandatory> or <Make this item not mandatory>.
