When starting a project from an initiative in the portfolio, the current timeline planning for the initiative is replaced by the planning in the project. In order to preserve the original portfolio planning for an initiative the initial baseline for the portfolio item can be set when starting a project. In order to set this baseline an option is available in the Start a project dialog.
Click on START A PROJECT in the menu on the right side of the initiative canvas.
The Start a project project dialog will be shown.
- Make sure to fill in the Organisational Unit, Folder, Project model, Managers and Start Date for the project.
- The option Set initial baseline on portfolio item is checked by default, setting an initial portfolio baseline on project start. If the baseline should not be set, please uncheck this option.
- After filling all concerning fields, click on Start project to create the project.
