Groups
Introduction
What are groups?
Groups are collections of workflows (categories) that belong together, usually tied to a portfolio, program, or organizational unit. They help structure and organize workflows so that the right set of approval processes is available in the right context.
Who uses it?
- Managers create groups and assign coordinators.
- Coordinators configure workflows within a group and manage running workflows.
What are groups used for?
- To organize workflows by portfolio or organizational unit.
- To assign responsibility: coordinators manage workflows within their group.
- To provide visibility: readers can track workflows in their group.
- To ensure users only see and use workflows relevant to their projects or portfolios.
Where to find groups
- Groups are created and managed in the Approval Workflows app.
- Go to the Configuration tab and click + Add group to create a new group.
- Each group appears as a container where you can configure categories (workflows) and roles.
