Hour rates

Manage the hour rates used to calculate the costs of hours. Each hour rate has:

• a name (free to choose, e.g. 'Rate 100.00');
• a code and a unique ID (usable in integrations and imports);
• the hour rate itself;
• a financial category the costs are booked on;
• a currency.

Add a rate with Add Hour Rate; click a rate to edit it.

Where hour rates are used

• Hour rates are linked to Skills, so planned and written hours get a cost price.
• If the Time entry setting Allow project manager(s) to configure hour rates per resource is enabled, project managers can assign a rate per resource within their project; see Time entry.
• The linked financial category determines where the hour costs appear in the financial planning.

Tip: Changing the value of an existing rate affects cost calculations. Consider creating a new rate (e.g. with a year suffix) instead of editing one that is in use.
