Financial categories

Financial categories (e.g. 'Internal resources', 'Hardware', 'Software') are the categories on which costs are planned and tracked throughout FCC. They are defined centrally here; portfolios then choose which categories they use.

Managing categories​

The list shows per category a name and a description. Add a category via the list; click a category to edit it. Categories defined here become selectable in portfolios and portfolio models.

Where financial categories are used​

  • Portfolios make categories available via the Financial categories side panel; see Financial planning for the portfolio-side setup.
  • Hour rates are linked to a financial category, so hour costs land on the right category.
  • Costs in the financial grids of portfolios and projects are planned and tracked per Financial category.

Note: If a portfolio is missing a category, it first needs to be added here at central level. This is typically a task for the functional administrator.
